Erosion Control Blankets
Erosion control blankets (ECB) are designed to reduce seed and soil loss, promoting the establishment of permanent vegetation. Northlink Supply offers a complete line of photodegradable and biodegradable (organic) erosion control blankets ranging from lightweight straw to heavier, slower-degrading coconut blankets offering cost-effective protection for soils.
Straw Erosion Control Blanket
Straw erosion control blankets provide short-term protection on moderate slope and channel applications requiring erosion control for up to 12 months. The blanket is created with agricultural straw fibers which aid in vegetation establishment.
- “Single net straw” blankets: netting stitched to the topside of straw fibers, cost-effective for many situations.
- “Double net straw” blankets: netting stitched to both the top and bottom sides of the straw fibers, provide additional protection.
Available in both 8’ and 16’ wide rolls in standard or highway roll lengths.
Straw/Coconut Erosion Control Blanket
Straw/Coconut erosion control blankets provide mid to long-term protection for seed and soil from the erosive forces of water and wind on newly seeded slopes and channels.
- 70% straw / 30% coconut blankets: nettings stitched to the top and bottom sides of straw/coconut fiber blends, provide erosion protection up to 24 months.
Available in both 8’ and 16’ wide rolls in standard or highway roll lengths.
Coconut Erosion Control Blankets
Coconut erosion control blankets provide mid to long-term erosion control for environmentally sensitive projects demanding longevity and performance.
- 100% coconut blankets: netting stitched to top and bottom sides of the coconut fibers, erosion protection up to 3 years.
Available in both 8’ and 16’ wide rolls in standard or highway roll lengths.
Coir & Jute Mats
Coir and jute mats provide erosion control by enhancing vegetation establishment on slopes, channels, and ditches.
Coir Mats
Coir matting is constructed with high strength bristle coir twine to provide a semi-permanent erosion control solution. With a functional life of 4 to 6 years coir can be utilized on stream banks, slopes, and in channels and ditches.
Jute Mats
Created from woven jute fibers, jute mats provide a fully biodegradable solution to soil erosion while offering partial shade and heat storage to accelerate vegetation establishment.
